Dr. Martha Boone is one of the early women board certified in urology. She was fellowship trained in urinary tract reconstruction. She practiced academic urology for five years (two at MCG) and was in the private practice of urology for twenty-four. She was named TOP DOC in urology in Atlanta for over a decade. Her first novel The Big Free fictionalized her six years at Charity Hospital in New Orleans.  The sequel to that novel, Mother Charity is being published in early 2024. Her current book, The Unfettered Urologist is non-fiction and relays her accumulated wisdom and stories from practicing medicine for thirty-five years. Dr. Boone retired to write full-time and travel with her husband.
