The purpose of this conference is to disseminate new scientific and clinical advances applicable to the management of patients with complex and life-threatening hematological and oncological illnesses.  Presentations will update our understanding of cancer biology and benign hematological disorders. Challenging case studies will illustrate the diagnosis and management of several hematological and oncological illnesses.  Participants are urged to bring their complex cases for discussion among the conference faculty and their peers.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Update our current immunotherapeutic strategies for lymphoplasmacytic neoplasm control, emphasizing Chimeric Antigen Receptor T Cell Therapy and additional evolving immunotherapy strategies.
  2. Discuss paradigm shifts in medical oncology as they have been influenced by the discovery of targetable driver mutations and recent applicable clinical trials.
  3. Review the updated treatment guidelines for patients presenting with malignancies arising in the lung, breast, colon, prostate, bladder, and female reproductive organs.
  4. Present relevant translational research and related phase-one clinical trials that promise to expand currently available treatment options.
  5. Describe new surgical techniques that improve upon the diagnosis, staging, and resection of cancer, as well as speed recovery and favorably impact survival.
  6. Introduce appropriate strategies for incorporating the new oral anticoagulants for prophylaxis and management of thromboembolic disorders.
