Overview
The Women's Career Development Symposium is designed to engage women academic medicine faculty and other gender minority faculty in networking, skill-based and knowledge-based training, and addressing and overcoming various barriers through plenaries, workshops, and networking activities. The ultimate goal of this symposium is to provide support and promote personal and career success among women and gender minority faculty. Opening Plenary: "Pay Equity is About More than Pay: Institutional and Individual Strategies for Equity" Workshops: "The Art of Self-Promotion" and "Coach Yourself for Success" Panel: "MCG Women Leadership Panel”: A Q&A about work life balance, overcoming barriers to success, best advice they’ve ever received, etc. "

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Network effectively with other women faculty and build a broader network to facilitate career advancement
  2. Reframe an issue that has you "stuck" and brainstorm different solutions.
  3. Foster confidence in promoting yourself, your work, and your value in an organization to meet a professional goal.
  4. Increased knowledge of the barriers and facilitators to women's career advancement
