Overview

The 2026 Advances in Stroke Management Symposium is an interdisciplinary continuing medical education activity designed for physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and other healthcare professionals involved in acute stroke care. Through expert-led lectures, interactive case reviews, and practical decision-making exercises, the symposium will provide participants with up-to-date knowledge and strategies for stroke prevention, acute intervention, and management of post-stroke complications.


Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Guide the hospital management of stroke patients.
  2. Review the triage of acute stroke patients.
  3. Describe the roles of intravenous and intra-arterial therapies in acute stroke.
  4. Identify stroke patients who are likely to benefit from neurosurgical interventions.
  5. Optimize treatment for patients with intracranial atherosclerosis.
  6. Optimize secondary stroke prevention with medications and lifestyle changes.
  7. Discuss latest developments and ongoing clinical stroke research.

Accreditation
The Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Kiawah Island Golf Resort will confirm your reservation directly to you when your deposit is received. If the type of accommodation you request is unavailable, the most appropriate lodging available will be reserved for you. Your deposit must be received within five (5) days. All rates are subject to 13% tax (subject to change) and villa rates include a 9% daily resort fee. Cancellations must be received fourteen (14) days prior to arrival date for refund of deposit.
